“Planting a tree is a form of ongoing charity.”

The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Swat has officially launched its tree plantation campaign. The campaign was inaugurated by Additional Registrar Dr. Khalid Khan, who planted a sapling to mark the beginning of the initiative. On this occasion, a large number of Deans, Directors, faculty members, and staff were also present.

This plantation drive has been initiated under the special instructions and keen interest of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Shakeeb Ullah, and will continue until the end of March 2026. During this period, a significant number of trees will be planted at different locations across the campus to make the university environment greener and more pleasant.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khalid Khan stated that planting trees is not only a virtuous act but also a collective responsibility, especially in light of the growing challenges of climate change. He emphasized that through increased plantation efforts, we can help protect our environment and ensure a better future for the coming generations.

He further added that the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences Swat, while maintaining its longstanding traditions, will continue the plantation campaign with full commitment this year as well. Faculty members and staff will actively participate in this activity on a daily basis.

Dr. Khalid Khan also expressed special thanks to the Forest Department, the Forest Officer, and their team for providing saplings and extending their full cooperation for the success of the plantation campaign. He mentioned that due to the current fuel crisis, a large number of students are not present on campus; however, students from nearby areas are warmly welcomed to participate in this important environmental initiative and contribute to the protection of the environment.
