The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS), Swat, successfully organized a welfare-oriented “Free Veterinary Medical Camp” under the auspices of the UVAS Veterinary Society in collaboration with the Department of Clinical Sciences.
The camp was made possible through the key support of Mr. Fazal Elahi, Senior Sales Promotion Officer of Pace Pharmaceutical Company, and Mr. Mujahid Akbar, Regional Sales Manager (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) of Novan Company.
Supervision and Technical Guidance:
The camp was supervised by Veterinary Society Chief Coordinator Assistant Professor Dr. Asfandyar Khan, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayesha Humayun, DVS Incharge Dr. Khurram Adrian Shah, and Dr. Ulfat Batool. Faculty members provided excellent technical and practical guidance to students during the diagnosis and treatment of livestock.
In addition, senior DVM students visited nearby villages in groups, conducting door-to-door animal checkups. Various diseases were diagnosed and treated free of cost. Essential medicines were distributed among needy farmers, while awareness sessions were held on animal health, prevention of infectious diseases, and improved nutrition.

At the closing ceremony, Dr. Alamdar Hussain Malik (Head of Veterinary Teaching Hospital & Advisor to the Vice Chancellor) and Veterinary Advisor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal presented honorary shields to representatives of Pace Pharmaceutical and Novan Company in recognition of their valuable support.
The Veterinary Society expressed special gratitude to Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Shakeeb Ullah, whose visionary leadership continues to advance both student training and the mission of community service.
This free medical camp not only enhanced students’ professional skills but also proved to be a remarkable initiative for animal welfare at the local level.
