On the special direction of the Worthy Vice Chancellor, University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Swat, Prof. Dr. Shakeeb Ullah, a delegation comprising Dr. Alamdar Hussain Malik, Advisor Academics; Dr. Muhammad Tayyab Khan, Assistant Professor; and Dr. Khuram Adrian Shah, Lecturer Theriogenology, participated in a Training of Trainers organized by a Korean delegation in collaboration with the Livestock & Dairy Development Department, Government of Punjab, at the Buffalo Research Institute, Pattoki.

The training introduced veterinary professionals and academia to a new blood-based pregnancy diagnosis kit, offering a simple, secure, rapid, and advanced method for pregnancy detection. The technology can detect pregnancy through a blood sample within minutes and is reported to have 99% sensitivity and specificity for detecting pregnancies at 28 days or beyond.
The Training of Trainers was attended by faculty members from UVAS-Lahore, veterinarians and researchers from the Livestock & Dairy Development Department, and other professionals associated with livestock research and development. Participants appreciated the innovative technology and discussed its potential applications in reproductive management, early pregnancy detection, and improving livestock productivity.
As part of the collaboration, the Korean delegation generously provided few pregnancy diagnosis and Calf Diarrhea kits to UVAS-Swat for demonstration purposes. The kits will provide faculty and students with an opportunity to gain practical exposure to emerging reproductive technologies and support future research in livestock reproduction.
The participation reflects UVAS-Swat’s commitment, under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Shakeeb Ullah, to fostering national and international collaborations and introducing emerging technologies into veterinary education, research, and livestock development.
