The Pakistan Veterinary Medical Council (PVMC) has issued an important alert for parents and students regarding the approval status of veterinary education programmes. The council advises students to confirm PVMC approval of their specific degree programme before taking admission, particularly in DVM, MS/MPhil, and PhD programmes.
The notice states that degrees from non-PVMC-approved programmes may not be eligible for PVMC registration and could also affect eligibility for government jobs. It also emphasizes that approval status can vary according to the subject and specialization, so students should verify the latest information from the official PVMC website.
According to the displayed list, University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Swat (UVAS Swat) is shown as:
- DVM — Approved ✅
- MS/MPhil — Approved* (subject/specialization-specific)
- PhD — Not Approved ❌
Key message: Students should always check the latest PVMC approval status of their specific programme and specialization before admission.
